Building a 13-Week Industrial System Security Course with Labshock
University of Arkansas at Little Rock built a full 13-week Industrial System Security course around Labshock, keeping 20+ students inside one connected environment from the first week to the last.

September 21, 2026 — University of Arkansas at Little Rock is running a 13-week Industrial System Security course built around Labshock, with 20+ students working through World of Labshock for the full semester.
One lab is easy to build around. A full course is different, and the course design starts from a single constraint: do not reset learning every week with another disconnected lab. Students stay inside the same environment for all 13 weeks, with more systems, more access and more problems added as the course progresses, across Zones 1 through 50 of World of Labshock.
The syllabus covers OT and industrial systems basics, PLC and SCADA, industrial networks and protocols, segmentation and access, monitoring and detection, and SOC workflows — six subject areas mapped onto thirteen weeks inside one connected estate rather than six separate labs.
The instructor side runs on the same system. Labshock Command Center manages more than 20 student accounts, with access and progress controlled from one place, and quizzes used directly as course deliverables. Each week follows the same pattern: learn the topic, enter the environment, find the system, complete the task, answer the questions, show the result.
It is one entry point in a broader direction for the platform — not only single labs, not only self-paced learning, but one environment able to carry a complete OT security course from the first week to the final one.
